I added up the returning rankings of each team in all the regions and divided it by the total teams in the region to get the average rank. In the table below if a team has a - as their regional rank, that means they don't return enough athletes to score in the returning virtual meet. The results are as follows.
The 3A Midwest is the only region with 4 teams with a returning ranking in the top 10 and are certainly top heavy even though they rank 3rd on average rank.

- West - 24 Teams, 935 Total Points, Average of 38.96
