Locke, Howard, Brasovan are Top Florida Finishers at NON on Friday

Ashley Brasovan may not have won tonight, but her battle was impressive coming off of the 16:18 meet record less than 24 hours before. The Girls Seeded 2 Mile race was a sit and wait dramafest. You felt like at any moment someone was going to blow it out and space out the pack... it never happened. The super-talented field stayed bunched up for the ENTIRE race. Ashley found herself from very early on boxed in and stranded toward the back or middle of the pack. Since they never stringed out it made it tough for Ashley to get into any kind of position. She spent a lot of time in lane 2 and 3 trying to get around, which took even more out of her already tired legs. The double just wasn't meant to be. Neely Spence of Pennsylvania was the victor of the sit and wait, which was a pretty safe conclusion given her speed.

Dentarious Locke was the top Florida placer of the night. After coming out of the prelims as the top seed (10.43), he took it all the way to the tape. In a photo finish, he was just outleaned by Hunter Furr of North Carolina 10.56 to 10.60 to finish in second place. David Howard of Spruce Creek concluded his high school career with a 14.15 in the 110 Hurdles finals for fourth place.

We have a full list of all Florida finishers tonight's events. Look for race videos from all of these races coming throughout the weekend.
