Bailey competed in the Discus qualifying on July 7th and almost missed making the final until his third throw where he solidified his spot with a throw on 197-5 (60.17m) to have him sitting in 6th place heading into the final. In the 8 man final Baileys first throw out of 6 ended up being his best. He threw 202-0 (61.57) to put him in the silver medal spot at the time. Bailey wasn't able to improve on his throw, but neither was anyone else, and he walked away with a silver medal and a trip to Rio!

Ash was able to survive the 110 Hurdle prelims and semi-finals, he was the fastest qualifier in the prelims and semi-final with times of 13.39 and 13.34 respectively.
