The road to the NCHSAA state meet starts with entries for the regional meets. Don't wait until the last minute to get your team entered!
Championship season has begun! Conferences are holding their final meets this week (or at least, trying to hold them amid the stormy weather), and regionals are next weekend. The final deadline for regional entries is this coming Saturday, May 7th, at 6 PM. All athletes and relays must be entered by that time, or else a late fee must be paid.
Only verified performances from the MileSplit database can be entered into a regional meet! Performances can only get into the database from properly submitted results. The responsibility for submitting results lies with the meet director or host school, unless another arrangement has been made among the coaches at the meet. Results must be in the system by Friday night if at all possible, so that the performances can be available for meet entry on Saturday.
Coaches can enter non-qualifiers into the regional meet, and if there are not enough qualifiers to fill the event (12 on a 6-lane track and 16 on an 8-lane track) then the top non-qualifying entries will get in. If there is a tie among non-qualifiers for the final spot(s) in a regional, and taking all the tied athletes would put the number over the minimum, then none of them are taken.
Seed marks do not automatically update! If you entered an athlete earlier in the season and the athlete has improved, you have to remove the athlete and re-enter.
Don't wait until the last minute to enter your team! I will be at the Frosh-Soph Invitational on Saturday, and may not be able to help immediately with problems that may arise.
