NC Athletes Set the Early National Standard at NCRunners Holiday Invite

Anna Cockrell Hits Beast Mode

Look, we knew this was a possibility.  After a junior year in which the Providence Day superstar gained national attention and international experience, there was always a chance that she would come out on an entirely different level to start her senior season (especially given that she has a reputation for working very hard in the off-season).

That doesn't make Cockrell's day any less impressive, though!  She started with a 7.70 US #1 in the finals of the 55 Hurdles, only 0.06 seconds behind her all-time NC record, then turned around in less than 10 minutes to win the 55 Dash in 6.97 US #1 NC #6 All-Time.  She capped off the monster triple with a 38.78 US #1 NC #2 All-Time in the 300 - a whopping 1.22 seconds faster than her best time last winter!  That performance would have ranked her US #7 at the end of the 2015 indoor season, and would have been the second-fastest flat-track time.  Can you imagine what this girl can do on a fast banked track?
