Rivalries Renewed and Streaks on the Line: NCISAA State Meet Preview

1A Boys

Let's face it - Quinn Schneider (Woodlawn School) looks dominant in this race (and also looks great in sunglasses, but that's neither here nor there). His best time this season is over two minutes faster than any other 1A boy that we have recorded in our database! With defending individual champion Christian Pigues moving up to 2A this year and Shannon Forest leaving the NCISAA entirely, Schneider can cruise to the title unless there's some mystery runner out there that I don't know about. Robert Irlbeck (Hickory Christian) is the only other athlete with a sub-19 time in our rankings this year, although Schneider's teammate Zachery Lorch did run 18:04 last fall.

Team scores are always close in the 1A division, where they only score three runners due to the tiny sizes of the schools, but Woodlawn has the most depth of anyone headed into the meet. The Trail Blazers are the defending team champs, and the two closest teams to them in 2014 are no longer in the classification.
