McAlpine was in all its glory Saturday, with nearly perfect weather and top competition leading to exciting races.

Just as teams from north of our state's border invaded WakeMed Saturday, so did teams to the south of us make an incursion into Charlotte.  The Hare & Hounds Invitational attracted strong teams from South Carolina and Georgia and pitted them against some of the top private and public schools from North Carolina.  For added interest, the meet even had Anchorage Christian from Alaska on hand, and their runners surely had a difficult time adjusting to the sudden 30-degree increase in temperature that they encountered.  With 55 teams on hand, there was more than enough competition to drive fast times and strong team performances.  In the end, it was an even split between Georgia and North Carolina, as each state left with one individual champion and one team champion.  Flip through the slides to catch the highlights!
