The Green Hope graduate only had one season in high school, but now she's crushing it in the SEC.
Former Green Hope Falcon Mary Alex England, who only ran cross country during her senior year in high school, has been the #1 runner for Ole Miss in the Rebels' first two meets of the 2014 season. On Saturday, England clocked 17:23 for 5000 meters at the Commodore Classic! This comes on the heels of her debut track season last spring, when she set the Ole Miss school record in the 10000 meters. Not bad for someone who didn't even compete her first year in college! She has a former cross-town rival on the Rebel squad with her, as John Dalton Rohr (Broughton '14) ran 25:39 for 8000 meters last weekend. Many other recent NC graduates had a strong first weekend, as well - scroll down to see!
