The first major invitational of September promises to add more information to what we already understand so far this season.
We're getting closer to that point in the season when we have solid information on all the contenders. The Seahawk Invitational won't be the final piece of that puzzle, but it will advance our knowledge of where many of the key teams in the state are at this point. A few individuals are making their big-race debuts, including one who is racing for the first time, and there are even a handful of teams that haven't competed at the 5K distance yet. We will also get to revise and update our current information, as it is fairly common for runners and even entire squads to improve significantly from the first major race to the second. As mid-Septermber approaches and we anticipate the first official All-Classes Rankings, meets like this play a pivotal role for teams that are building toward a potential championship.
