Live Updates from Russell E. Blunt East Coast Invitational

This meet is the "championship" of the summer track season for any athlete that hasn't qualified for nationals.

One of the biggest, best, and most historically important summer track invitationals concludes in Durham today, with the finals of the sprint races dominating the afternoon session.  The East Coast Invitational, hosted by the Durham Striders for years now, is named after legendary former Hillside coach Russell E. Blunt.  The meet regularly draws athletes from Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, South Carolina, and a contingent from Bermuda, in addition to occasional additions from other states.  The meet is held at the Durham County Memorial Stadium, and it serves as the effective final meet of the summer track season for all but the few athletes talented enough to qualify for one of the national championships.
