2013-2014 Was a Banner Year for NCRunners

With an expanding group of passionate reporters, NCRunners leads the nation - and plans to keep getting better!

The 2013-2014 scholastic running year is over, although summer track continues for another month, and part of the summer routine at NCRunners involves looking back over the past 365 days of track & cross country coverage.  One thing is abundantly clear about the "coverage year" that just ended: NCRunners rocks!  Check out some of the highlights from our internal analysis, along with our ranking among all MileSplit state sites for each category:

Of course, a BIG part of that success comes from YOU, the loyal reader!  So, before we say anything else, let us send out a HUGE THANK YOU from the whole NCRunners staff!  We're honored to serve a state with a dynamic and passionate fanbase in the running sports, and numbers like these inspire us to continue finding new ways to improve our coverage.  So, how exactly will NCRunners be even better than the magnificent 2013-2014 coverage year?  How about these ideas:

  • Expanded roles for our current reporters, Jason and Abby, including some article writing

  • Addition of at least two more regular reporters

  • Expanded use of team coverage at major invitationals

  • Coverage of more mid-level invitationals, especially during outdoor track season

If you're excited about this like we are, why not consider becoming a part of the team?  NCRunners is always looking for volunteers to help fill in the gaps in our coverage, especially those that have an interest in photography or videography and have their own equipment.  The cameras don't have to be fancy and you don't have to be a pro - you just have to love track and cross country and be willing to go to meets!
