It was a gloriously beautiful day in Asheville yesterday, and athletes from Western North Carolina and beyond took full advantage of it to produce some great performances. Last year's meet was hindered by cool temperatures and gusty winds, while the year before it rained. This year, warm sun benefited the power athletes, while a gentle breeze kept things from getting too hot for the distance runners. As usual, a wide spectrum of teams (including a sprinkling from out of state) brought their best to the competition, although going up against the Taco Bell Classic on the calendar did reduce the field somewhat.
