Although this is the 6th consecutive year this meet has been held, a format change made it seem like a new event altogether.  Dropping the relay carnival format and going with a traditional NCHSAA state meet schedule, meet management was able to attract even more talent than in the past, especially on the girls' side.  The showcase events turned out to be the 100 Hurdles, where three of the state's best athletes combined with gusty conditions to post some big times (though they would not count for records due to the +2.4 aiding wind).  Anna Cockrell (Providence Day) claimed the win in that race with a time of 13.91 NC #1 US #11 (all conditions), besting Ebony Williams (Parkland) and her 14.01 NC #2 US #21 (all conditions).  While Williams nearly broke 14 for the first time, Kylie McMillan (Southern Guilford) came through with a 14.29 NC #4.  The three girls nearly produced the top three times in the state, though a performance elsewhere broke up that effort.  Cockrell also clocked 4...
