  • Trentavis Friday (Cherryville) earns a Double National Championship in the 60 Dash (6.64 US #1, NC #1 All Time, US #7 All Time) and the 200 (20.97 US #1, NC #1 All Time, US #2 All Time).

  • Isaiah Moore (Cummings) is the National Champion in the 60 Hurdles, winning in 7.79 US #1, NC #5 All Time.

  • Parkland girls run 1:38.59 NC #1, US #2, NC #2 All Time for 4x200 to finish second All Americans.

  • Mohogany Baker (Phillip O. Berry) throws the 25-pound weight 59' 9.5" NC #1 US #3 NC #1 All Time to finish in 3rd place All American.

  • Layla White (Cary) finished 3rd in the 400 All American, running 54.53 NC #1 US #4 NC #2 All Time.

  • Wakefield girls run 3:50.51 NC #1 US #5 to finish 5th in the 4x400 All American.

  • Knightdale boys place 5th in the 4x400 All American out of the unseeded section, running 3:20.55 NC #1 US #6.

  • Blake Dodge (West Carteret) runs 2:11.21 NC #1 US #10 NC #1 All Time (unofficial) for the 800, finishing 6th overall out of the slowest section All American.

  • Katlyn Sherman (Parkland) clocked 24.52 NC #1 US #16 NC #7 All Time in the 200 Dash final, finishing 6th All American.

  • Quashawn Cunningham (Mallard Creek) didn't improve his time from the prelims in the 200 final, but he did finish 6th to earn All American status.

  • Malia Ellington (Community School of Davidson) ran 4:50.58 NC #1 US # 14 NC #2 All Time in the Mile, finishing 7th.

  • Patrick Sheehan (Lake Norman) ran 9:21.20 NC #1 NC #18 All Time in the 2 Mile during the unseeded section.

  • Sara Platek (Ragsdale) clocked 10:40.27 NC #1 US #24 NC #4 All Time in the Two Mile, finishing 13th overall.

  • Jacklyn Howell (Southeast Raleigh) ran 8.45 NC #1 US #7 NC #3 All Time for 7th place in the 60 Hurdles, with Anna Cockrell (Providence Day) right behind in 8.48 NC #2 US #10 NC #4 All Time.

  • Quashawn Cunningham (Mallard Creek) sped to a 6.84 NC #3 US #11 NC #15 All-Time while finishing 6th in the 60 Dash, and Jahmaal Daniel (Terry Sanford) was right behind in 6.85.

  • Girls 60 Hurdles Semifinals: Anna Cockrell (Providence Day) 8.48 NC #1 US #8 NC #3 All-Time advances as 2nd seed, Jacklyn Howell (Southeast Raleigh) grabs 8th spot with 8.60.

  • Boys 60 Hurdles Semifinals: Isaiah Moore (Cummings) advances to final with 7.90 NC #1 US #5, will be the top seed.

  • Boys 60 Dash Semifinals: Trentavis Friday (Cherryville) is the leading advancer with his 6.72, Jahmaal Daniel (Terry Sanford) 6.92 and Quashawn Cunningham (Mallard Creek) 6.94 also advance to final.

  • Jeremy Massenburg (Wakefield) runs 7.16 NC #10 in Freshman 60 Dash prelims, then 7.19 to finish 3rd in the final.

  • Sara Platek (Ragsdale) ran 5:03.08 NC #5 to win the Freshman Mile, with Holly Bailey (Lake Norman) in 7th with her 5:11.11 NC #11.

  • Noah Dolhare (Charlotte Country Day) finished 4th in the Freshman Mile with his time of 4:50.51. 

 

Saturday Highlights

  • Sanderson girls finish 4th in the 4x55 Shuttle Hurdles, running 32.72 US #4 All American.

  • Isaiah Moore (Cummings) jumped 24' 1.75" to finish 4th NC #1 US #4 NC #6 All-Time All American.

  • Green Hope girls clock 21:16.16 US #9 in the 4xMile Relay, finishing 9th overall.

  • Leesville Road girls run 9:19.93 in the 4x800 NC #1 US #19 NC #2 All-Time

  • Girls 60 Dash Prelims: Ama-Selina Tchume (Wakefield) advances to semifinals with 7.73 (23rd qualifier).  Charminique Hackney (Cary) just misses advancing.

  • Boys 60 Dash Prelims: Trentavis Friday (Cherryville, 6.79, 3rd), Jahmaal Daniel (Terry Sanford, 6.92, 6th), and Quashawn Cunningham (Mallard Creek, 6.97, 17th) all advance to semifinals.  Khairee Lewis (Sanderson) is the first runner out.

  • Girls 60 Hurdles Prelims: Anna Cockrell (Providence Day, 8.55 NC #1 US #10, 5th), Kylie McMillan (Southern Guilford, 8.81, 12th), Jacklyn Howell (Southeast Raleigh, 8.67, 14th), and Ebony Williams (Parkland, 8.75, 15th) all advance to semifinals.

    • Cockrell hit the 55 mark in 7.95, which is equal to US #2.

  • Boys 60 Hurdles Prelims: Isaiah Moore (Cummings, 8.04, 8th), Emmanuel Jackson (Sanderson, 8.13 NC #2, 16th), and Marcus Krah (Hillside, 8.25 NC #3, 24th) all advance to semifinals.

  • Girls 4x200 Relay Prelims: Parkland girls advance to final with #1 seed after running 1:38.60 US #1 NC #2 All-Time.

  • Girls 400 Prelims: Layla White (Cary) ran 54.87 NC #1 US #5 to advance 3rd to final.

  • Boys 400 Prelims: Marquavious Johnson (Knightdale) 48.94 NC #1.

  • Girls 200 Prelims: Katlyn Sherman (Parkland) 24.53 NC #1 US #16 NC #7 All-Timeadvances to final as 7th qualifier.

  • Boys 200 Prelims: Trentavis Friday (Cherryville) 21.50 NC #1 US #4 NC #6 All-Time, advances to final as 3rd qualifier.  Quashawn Cunningham (Mallard Creek) also advances to final with 21.75 NC #2 US #16 NC #10 All-Time.

Friday Highlights

  • North Carolina girls performed extremely well in the Championship 5000, led by Mary Grace Doggett (Cardinal Gibbons) and Ryen Frazier (Ravenscroft).  Doggett finished 4th in 17:01.73 NC #1 US #6 NC #2 All-Time All American, with Frazier right behind her in 5th with a 17:02.17 NC #2 US #7 NC #3 All-Time All American.  Kayla Montgomery (Mount Tabor) completed a whirlwind of a month by finishing 8th in 17:16.82 NC #3 US #10 NC #4 All-Time.  Lily Anderson (T. C. Roberson) clocked 17:45.61 NC #4 US #12 NC #5 All-Time, while Theresa Enright (Green Hope) moved up to NC #6 All-time with her 18:18 NC #5 US #20.  Alli Castro (North Lincoln) rounded out a spectacular set of races with her 18:55.50 NC #6 US #25.

  • In the boys' Championship 5000, Patrick Sheehan (Lake Norman) ran 14:57.82 to earn NC #1 US #9 NC #2 All-Time.  Ben Huffman (Providence Day) was only one place behind, running 15:03.22 NC #2 US #10 NC #3 All-Time in his first indoor 5K ever.

  • Green Hope's girls ran 12:17.64 NC #1 US #26 to finish 16th in the Championship Distance Medley Relay, including a 5:00 anchor leg from Elly Henes.

  • Malia Ellington (Community School of Davidson) kicked off a weekend that includes a race every day.  Running from the third heat of four in the Emerging Elite 800, she dropped a 2:11.93 NC #1 US #7 NC #1 All-Time. Watch Video

  • Nick Linder (Providence Day) posted an impressive 1:54.09 in the Emerging Elite 800 NC #1 US #13 NC #4 All-Time. Watch Video

  • Green Hope's boys ran 7:58.92 in the Emerging Elite 4x800 NC #1 NC #5 All-Time. Watch Video

  • Cary's girls chose to run in the Emerging Elite 4x400 rather than the Championship (presumably to space out their races over the weekend) and ended up winning the thing in 3:52.15 NC #1 US #4 NC #2 All-Time.  This was accomplished by getting 56-second splits from both Layla White and Lakeisha Warner.   • The Imp Nation crew also ran the 1600 Sprint Medley (200-200-400-800) in 4:08.99, good enough for US #8 right now.  Layla White split 55.00 on the 400 leg, showing a flash of what she could do in the Championship 400 later this weekend. Watch Video
