About Our Team
Cary Academy Cross Country is a member of the Triangle Independent Schools Athletic Conference (TISAC) and the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (NCISAA). Cary Academy competes in the NCISAA 3A division, which includes the largest schools in the NCISAA. The team trains on the trails of Umstead State Park, which is about one mile from the Cary Academy campus, as well as trails on the Cary Academy and SAS campus. In the spring most Cross Country athletes participate in the Varsity Track & Field program.
Head Coach for both the Men's and Women's teams is Conrad Hall, who has held the position since 1998. Coach Hall is a former Duke Cross Country and Track athlete. He also teaches American History at Cary Academy. He is assisted by Coach Kim Jones, who has worked with the program since 2005. The Cross Country team is known for the many alumni who come back regularly to run with the team, as well as to work meets, run in the annual Alumni Meet, or simply cheer the athletes on.
