Tired of the same old 5ks? How about a Saturday morning free for a long run or time with your family? Friday Night Lights is a festival and celebration of distance running for all teams and abilities. This meet will start in the evening and finish under the lights for the Invitational & Championship races. Professional sound, DJ, vendors, food trucks and a real fireworks show by the Town of Kernersville will wrap up this evening of racing!

Entry Costs:

$200 per school for 41 or more athletes(combined genders) with payment mailed postmarked by July 1st.

Single gender squads are $125 with a max of 20 entries.

Schools entering 40 or less athletes (combined genders) will be $150 per school with payment mailed by July 1st.

All schools mailing payment postmarked on July, 1st or later is $200 if space is available.

Individuals may enter for $20 to be paid on site. No unattached runners or club teams are permitted.

High School teams ONLY. Meet is sanctioned for border states with teams from VA, SC, & TN & GA.

A max of 80 teams will be allowed into the 2018 edition of Friday Night Lights XC Festival on a first paid first enteredformat.

Payments postmarked on or after July 1st 2018 will automatically be charged $200 per school.

Meet may run up to 5 minutes ahead of schedule.  Report to starting line no later than 15 min
prior to listed start time!

done by Rhodes Race Timing.  

(Coaches' responsibility to collect chips post-race and return)

Ivey M. Redmon Sports Complex in Kernersville,
NC.



 LIGHTING:  There will
be lights throughout the course

The Top 2 Teams in all races will be
awarded team trophies, including JV Races. 


Note:  There are no awards or medals in the
developmental race.

online throughout the evening at www.RRTiming.com

BUS PARKING:
  Please pull bus into lower lot to unload team
and equipment by the softball fields.   You will unload your team equipment once
parked.   Overflow for bus parking (if
needed) will be in the lowest lot near the soccer fields like they do at the NCHSAA
XC State Championship.


   
Teams can access the team camp
area by walking between the softball fields and toward the finish line.
 

TEAM CAMPS:  Team tent area will be adjacent to the finish
line area in a newly fenced off area, NOT
at the softball fields.   An Overflow
tent area will be outside this fencing in the last section of the parking lot
closest to course at the Mile mark.   Do
NOT put tents within 20 feet of the finish line straightaway fence.   Please leave room for spectators.  



CONCESSIONS:
 Concessions (PDQ Restaurant, Zeko's
Catering, and Kona Ice) will be available in the parking area adjacent to the
port-a-johns.   There will be four food trucks in all.  These vendors will also serve
refreshments.  Water will also be
provided to all athletes by Primo.  

Teams should also bring their own water coolers for their squad.



REGISTRATION:  Please pick up your packet at the Mount Tabor
navy blue tent near finish line labeled packet pick up.   Your race numbers (bibs), shoe timing chips,
pins, trash bag, instructions for the chips, receipt, and a course map will be
inside.  You must put on your athlete and
coach wristbands before entering the team area. 


NOTE:   You,
as the coach, are ultimately responsible for the timing chips.
  Make sure they are properly fastened into the
athletes' shoe laces and returned by
you all at once.   There will be
instructions inside your packet.  The
Coach should collect all chips and return in the Ziploc bag after your last
race.   The coach and school will be
financially responsible for any lost chips.

 T-SHIRTS:  A "Friday Night Lights" technical shirt will
be available for purchase for $20 at
the JDL Fast Track Tent.  Only 500 will
be available and they always sell out!  
A portion of these shirt sales go to the JDL/Camel City Track Foundation
that provides opportunities to underserved groups in the area and free use of
their facility.  


RULES:  ALL NCHSAA RULES WILL BE FOLLOWED.  Follow them and please follow instructions
from the starter, course marshals, parking attendants, finish line officials, and
everyone else volunteering their time to help pull off this event.

Take I-40 East to exit 203, Hwy 66. Take a left on to Hwy 66. At Shields Rd. take a left. Continue to Beeson Rd, take a left on to Beeson Rd. Fields will be on your right.

From Charlotte


Take I-85 North to I-85 Business North/US 52N towards Lexington/Winston Salem. Continue on US 52N. Take the exit onto I-40 E/US-311 S toward Greensboro/High Point. Take exit 203 for N Carolina 66 toward Kernersville. Take a left on to Hwy 66. At Shields Rd. take a left. Go left on Beeson Rd. Fields will be on the right.

From Raleigh


Take I-40 West to exit 203 for N Carolina 66 toward Kernersville. Go right on to Hwy 66. At Shields Rd. go left. Take a left on to Beeson Rd. The fields will be on your right.
