Meet Information

Montreat College invites your team to kick off the 2017 season at our invitational. This event is named after Owen High School cross country coach Joe Hyder and local running legend Don McMahill, in recognition of their many contributions to Montreat College and our Black Mountain campus.

Unattached athletes are $20.00 per individual

Entries: Unlimited entries per team.
Schedule: College Men (5k) – 9:00am
College Women (5k) – 9:30am
High School Boys (5k) – 10:15am
High School Girls (5k) – 10:45am
Course Preview: Friday, September 1, 2017 (2:00 – 5:00 p.m.)
Team Scoring: Team scores will be computed by totaling the top five runners finish positions. Teams with less than five runners will NOT be totaled in the team scores.
Course: The course is a combination on grass, gravel, and wood-chip trail with rolling hills. There are small changes to last year’s course. Course maps will be distributed later in the summer.
Timing: All races will be chip-timed. Chips do not need to be turned back in.
Awards: The top-10 finishers in each race will receive a meet t-shirt.
Parking: Parking will be available on site.
