Tired of the same old 5ks? How about a Saturday morning free for a long run or time with your family? Friday Night Lights is a festival and celebration of distance running for all ages and groups. This meet will start in the evening and finish under the lights for the Invitational & Championship races. Professional sound and vendors like Fleet Feet Sports and New Balance Technical shirts for sale will make this meet special. Food Trucks and a real fireworks show by the Town of Kernersville will wrap up this evening of racing!

Entry Costs: Entry fee is $20 per individual, or
$200 per school for 41 or more athletes. Single gender squads are $100 with a max of 20 entries. Schools entering 40 or less athletes (combined genders)will be $150 per school.

TEAM ENTRY: The entry process is open now at NCRunners.com and must be completed by Tuesday, September 5th by 11:59PM. Go to NCRunners.com and click on the "CALENDAR" link. Scroll down to “FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS” and click the "ONLINE ENTRY" button.
Individual Entry: High School Individuals may enter the Invitational or Championship races, provided they are a member of their high school team and run in school uniform with coach or designee present. Their high school coach must enter them online. Individual entry is $20 and payable at packet pick up.
Race Assignments: Race assignments will be made by meet management. Coaches can request of course. Ultimately, we have to spread the number of teams across the events to accommodate all squads. Some large schools by request may run a B-TEAM in the Invitational Race if you have a very deep Varsity squad. All Teams must be a member of their public or private high school athletic association.
COURSE: 5km at the Ivey M. Redmon Sports Complex in Kernersville, NC.
LIGHTING: The course will be lighted throughout. Split Clocks will be available at the Mile, and 2 Mile marks. Sunset is at 7:38 pm on 9/8/2017
ADMISSION: All Spectators will be charged $6 for entry or post event fireworks. Ages 5 & under Free
NO "Free Admission" Coaches passes are honored at this event.
Top 10 individuals in ALL Divisions Championship, Invitational, & JV (Medals)
The Top 2 Teams in all races will be awarded plaques, including JV Races.
No Awards for Individuals or Team in the Developmental Race
RESULTS: Chip Timing and Live Results via RRTiming will be used for 2017! Results will be available after each race at www.RRTiming.com and will be posted online at NCRunners.com
BUS PARKING: Please pull bus into small lot next to finish line to unload team and equipment. After unloading ALL BUSES must park at the lower lot next to soccer fields.
TEAM CAMPS: Tent area will be adjacent to the finish line area in a newly fenced off area, NOT at the baseball fields.
CONCESSIONS: Concessions will be available in the team camp area. PDQ Restaurant will be on site serving chicken sandwiches, tenders, grilled chicken salad, and side items along with tea, water, and lemonade. Sandwich or tenders with chips and a drink will be sold for $7. Kona Ice will also have a truck serving slushies and refreshments. Teams should bring their own water. Water will of course be available for all runners after they exit the chute.
REGISTRATION: Please pick up your packet at the Mount Tabor navy blue tent near finish labeled registration. Your race bib numbers, chip timing tags, pins, trash bag, and course map will be inside.
T-SHIRTS: A “Friday Night Lights” New Balance technical shirt will be available for purchase for $20 near the registration area. Only 400 shirts will be available! They always sell out!
RULES: ALL NCHSAA RULES WILL BE FOLLOWED. Follow them and please follow instructions from the starter, course marshals, parking attendants, finish line officials, and everyone else volunteering their time to help pull off this event.

Take I-40 East to exit 203, Hwy 66. Take a left on to Hwy 66. At Shields Rd. take a left. Continue to Beeson Rd, take a left on to Beeson Rd. Fields will be on your right.
Take I-85 North to I-85 Business North/US 52N towards Lexington/Winston Salem. Continue on US 52N. Take the exit onto I-40 E/US-311 S toward Greensboro/High Point. Take exit 203 for N Carolina 66 toward Kernersville. Take a left on to Hwy 66. At Shields Rd. take a left. Go left on Beeson Rd. Fields will be on the right.
Take I-40 West to exit 203 for N Carolina 66 toward Kernersville. Go right on to Hwy 66. At Shields Rd. go left. Take a left on to Beeson Rd. The fields will be on your right.
