For the second straight year, at least one boy and one girl will represent North Carolina at the event in Portland.
North Carolina has two individuals competing in the first of the two national cross country events. Wesley Frazier and Ben Huffman are in Portland, OR right now (as am I, as part of the MileSplit coverage team for the meet), and they are being treated to a series of great experiences courtesy of Nike. For Frazier, this is another in a long line of national competitions, and another chance to prove that she can hang with the best in the country; her strength should come in handy on the muddy course that features three man-made hills in close proximity to each other. For Huffman, the meet is really his first brush with a field of this caliber, and it is an opportunity to gain experience and possibly reset his goals and expectations for the future. The coverage of this meet will be through the MileSplit National Page, but I will update this page with any snippets that I am able to get regarding our two representatives.
