Three US #1 Marks for NC Athletes Against College Competition

Reagan's Craig Engels is one of three North Carolina athletes who jumped straight to #1 in the nation this weekend.

 

Top-level high school athletes often run unattached in college races, seeking experience against a stronger level of competition.  Although these performances cannot be used for regional qualifying, we do add them to our rankings.  Last weekend, several of North Carolina's best produced performances that earned them national rankings, including three who currently hold the top spot in the nation.  In addition, five of these athletes lead the state with their performances.
