Featuring the Frosh/Soph Invitational, the UNOFFICIAL JV State Championship, on April 28, 2012
NCRunners is proud to announce the second event in the NCRunners Elite series, to be held at Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem on April 28, 2012. The NCRunners Elite Track & Field Invitational will feature a long-standing favorite in North Carolina, the Frosh/Soph Invitational that has been nicknamed "the UNOFFICIAL JV State Championship." These events are designed to give younger athletes a chance to shine as the focus of the day, especially if they are concluding their season because they are not able to compete for their school at the conference and/or regional meet. The meet will also feature 7 invitation-only Elite events, which will serve as a tune-up for athletes headed into the postseason. The meet falls on the last date for regional qualification, and it meets the criteria for a regular-season meet, so NCHSAA teams from any classification can attend. NCISAA teams, club teams, and eligible unattached athletes are also welcome.
Frosh/Soph Events
(limit of 4 athletes per school)
A full state meet schedule will be run, with all events timed finals except 110/100 Hurdles and 100 Dash.
Elite Events
(by invitation only, no entry fee)
110/100 Hurdles, 100 Dash, 400 Dash, 1600 Run, 4x100 Relay
Pole Vault, Shot Put
More Elite events may be added if interest is strong enough. Contact jgeorge@milesplit.com if you are interested in participating in one of the elite events.
Junior/Senior Events
(limit of 2 athletes per school)
110/100 Hurdles, 100 Dash, 400 Dash, 1600 Run
Information for Coaches
Entries will be submitted through the MileSplit registration process
The meet will conclude before the reporting deadline for 1A and 2A schools, and therefore it is not subject to the restriction on competition during the postseason.
Team cost is $70 for both genders in both junior/senior and frosh/soph
Team cost is $50 for both genders in frosh/soph events only
Individual athletes may register in up to 4 events for $10
