Week 5 In Review

The runners competing in the adidas XC Challenge put up some great times, and we definitely have some more clarity on the boys' side of the sport with regards to team championship contenders.  There were great team and individual performances from other races this weekend, as well.  Here are some team highlights (see below for individual highlights):

Earlier this week at the Owen Invitational, held on a relatively tough Montreat College course, North Lincoln's boys and girls both dominate.

Weddington boys win their home invitational with 16:15.6 average, as Jonathan Bivens drops a 15:38 on a course where nobody had broken 16 previously.

Lake Norman Charter boys, Charlotte Catholic girls, and Jay M. Robinson boys AND girls all have strong showings at Weddington, as well.

Myers Park boys and girls both finish second to Mills Godwin (VA) at the Hilltopper Invitational.

Bishop McGuinness boys and girls sweep team titles at the River Run Invitational.

Hickory girls edge Foard, Hickory boys lose narrowly to Forestview in a very competitive Freedom Invitational.

Ardrey Kell sweeps boys and girls titles at Lake Norman; the host's boys and the Providence girls finished second.
