The Cary girls ran 9:15.66 on Thursday to qualify for the Girls 4x800 Championship of America. Their 9:15 is the 3rd best performance in North Carolina state history. This bettered their 9:20 from last year and is just 4 seconds off the all-time #1 set in 2009 by Myers Park. The splits for this race were as follows: Deanna Foshee, 2:16.0; Jenna Christensen, 2:15.3; Sheridan Jordan, 2:19.5; & Erin Foshee, 2:24.9.

In their final race, the girls ran 9:17.62 to finish 11th overall. Both performances, on back to back days, were faster than they ran at any point last year. Each athlete ran slightly faster on day 1 except for Erin Foshee who ran 2:23.39 on the 2nd day.

Laura Hoer of TC Roberson finished 4th overall in the High School Girls 3000m race with a time of 9:39.41. This time is definitely an equivalent time of faster than her 10:37 personal record for 3200m at the Raleigh Relays. Looks like Hoer could be ready for a sub-10:30 3200 this year!

Her teammate, Sequoia Watkins, also placed 4th in the girls discus. Sequoia threw the disc 142 feet and 3 inches, just off her best mark of 144-7 for the season. She is currently ranked 5th all-time in NC state history.

Asheville's Isaac Presson ran a new personal best in the High School Boys Mile Run Championship. Isaac dropped a 4:09.16 which equivalent of about a 4:07.7. That time would put him #4 on the all-time NC list. It is also a US #3 time currently this season.

In the high school 3000m Championship, North Carolina put 3 boys in the top 7. Jake Hurysz of Eastern Alamance who holds the #1 time in the nation for 3200m placed 3rd with a time of 8:21.74. Mohammed Abushouk of Cary had a stellar run, hitting 8:26.10. This is a big performance for Mohammed and is definintely the race he's been looking for. This placed him 6th overall. He was followed by Blake Williams with a time of 8:27.60. Blake is coming off a new PR for 1600m last weekend at the Apex Relays.

Wakefield girls ran 3:51.85 in the girls 4x400. This time is the #4 ranked time in NC state history. They just missed moving onto the finals.
