Olympic Runner Gabe Jennings to Speak at Queen University of Charlotte

(Charlotte, NC) -- U.S. Olympian Gabe Jennings will discuss his running career and take questions from the audience at a free lecture to be held Saturday November 15th on the campus of Queens University of Charlotte. Jennings represented the U.S. at the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney after winning both the NCAA Championship and the U.S. Olympic Trials 1500-meter runs.
Jennings is regarded as one of the most interesting American milers, both for his odd running style and for his eccentric personality and approach to life. After returning from the Olympics, Jennings took off on a world-wide trek that led him from the high plains of Kenya to the rain forests of South America. He now coaches at South Eugene High School in Eugene, Oregon.
The event is free and open to the public and will begin at 6:30pm in Sykes Auditorium. The lecture is sponsored by the Charlotte Running Company and is being held in conjunction with Providence Day School’s Post Season 2-mile Tune-Up. For information on the lecture email simmonss@queens.edu
