This season David Melville (Northern Guilford) defended his individual title with relative ease and Chapel Hill boys dominated with a 17 second spread. Chapel Hill returns the majority of their top 7, but with a classification realignment coming in 2017, they may not be the favorites after this upcoming track season. Currently in the returning rankings Chapel Hill comes out on top with Mt. Tabor in 2nd due to a very distance 5th man after their strong top 4. Can Mt. Tabor develop a 5th this track season and come back as the favorites next season? And will top man Cameron Ponder, who was 2nd in 4A this season, be able to take down the current king of the NCHSAA 3A next season?
