Tavis Bailey was kind enough to meet up with reporter James Tatter in Rio after he met for an interview with NBC. Bailey is a graduate of A.L. Brown and competed in both football and track at Lenior-Ryhne before transferring to University of Tennessee to focus on Discus. Bailey grabbed second at the US Olympic Trials to secure his spot on the Olympic team and gave us some good insight on how it is to be an Olympic athlete living in the Olympic Village and to be apart of team USA. Bailey holds a season's best and PR of 213-0.75 and threw 196-2 in the prelims as he took 11th in his flight and didn't advance to the final.
