Cockrell's time betters her previous PR, state record, and US#4 All-Time Performance of 55.89. She now sits tied for US#2 All-Time behind current high school Olympian Sydney McLaughlin.
Cockrell was finally able to walk away with the glory on the biggest stage after a 2nd place finish at New Balance Outdoor Nationals, 2nd place finish at the US Junior Trials, and 11th place at the US Olympic Trials.
You couldn't ask for a better way to end the amazing career Cockrell has had at Providence Day. She finishes her career off as a 13-time outdoor state champion, 8 time New Balance Nationals All-American, and now a u20 World Champion.
Next, Cockrell will head of to the University of Southern California where she will add many more titles to her already historic running career. Congrats to Anna, you couldn't find someone more deserving of this world title if you had to!
