Bonus Rankings: Top Returning Teams & Individuals from the NCHSAA State Meet

Katherine Dokholyan led the Chapel Hill girls to a dominant performance at Ivey Redmon - and they have almost everyone back for a repeat attempt next year!

Runners are supposed to save their best effort for the championship meets, right?  So what happens to our overall rankings when the state meet is run in difficult conditions, leading to times that are easily 1:00 to 1:30 off from what the athletes are capable of producing on a dry course?  In fact, with so many of the later weekends of the 2015 season affected by rainy conditions, the overall and returning rankings for this fall have been unusually dominated by early-season meets (and there's also the curious case of the changing length of McAlpine, leaving one particular meet sticking out like a sore thumb).

The upshot of all of this is that we need a second set of returning rankings to really get a fair evaluation of which runners to look for next fall.  Specifically, we need to look at the top returners just from the state meet - as the old saying goes, everyone ran the same course on the same day!

Note: to make it into the team rankings below, a school had to have at least 5 returning runners at the state meet.
