West Johnston alum Dakota Foskey has began her final year at UNC Wilmington. Below we talked to her about how saving the UNCW program last year has brought the team together even more, look back on favorite high school memories, and her running career.

What got you into running?

I started running in high school to get into shape for basketball. I was actually really bad at running but we had so many talented upperclassmen on the team that I looked up to them and wanted to work hard to get to where they were and eventually I did!


What is the biggest difference between high school and college running?

Running in high school was not as intense as running in college. I ran about 45 miles a week in high school whereas in college I have done 70-80 mile weeks. It's a lot more stress on the...
