Although the first race of the Jungle Run kicks off before the sun goes down, the action really heats up when the air starts to cool down. As the night goes on, the crowds get bigger and bigger around the course, until large stretches of the Championship races are run in a tunnel of screaming fans and teammates. Runners move from lighted patch to lighted patch with darkness in between, preventing their eyes from fully adjusting to either. The race ends in the football stadium with the bleachers packed, but the cheering doesn't stop when the 5K's are over - the raucous awards ceremony is unparalleled in any other meet I've attended.
If you're not there in person, you can't really experience the full power of the Jungle Run, but we'll try to help you out by bringing you live tweets, plus photos and extensive race videos later on! Keep up with all the coverage here.
