XC Preview: NCISAA 3A By Conference

MAC Boys

Teams to Watch

There doesn't appear to be a close team race on the boys' side of this conference, though. Metrolina Christian returns 7 of the top 10 runners in the MAC, making them dominant favorites. The battle could be for second, where Westminster Catawba has at least two close challengers.

Athletes to Watch

Tate Johnson (Metrolina) has the top returning 5K time in the MAC, but Austin Moore (Northside Christian) may have passed him in the spring, when Moore led the conference in the 3200. Gaston Day discovered a new runner during the spring, Benny Bloemen, who ran the fastest 1600 time among all MAC returners; will he run in the fall? Matthew Fowler (Concord First Assembly) also had a solid track season, and he may have bridged the gap to the top 2 returners.
