TISAC Boys

Teams to Watch

Prepare to see none other than the Cary Academy boys to run away with the TISAC title. Big improvements from their top boys in the outdoor track season and the graduation of Providence Day School’s top runners will also put Cary Academy in contention for a state title. North Raleigh Christian Academy appears set to take the TISAC runner-up title, but the race for third will be tight between Ravenscroft School and Durham Academy. Watch out for these boys as they battle for the spot, and pay special attention to Durham Academy’s large pack as they work together to overcome Ravenscroft’s point advantage from having a runner finish in the single digits.

Athletes to Watch

Youngster Coleman Mitchell (Cary Academy) is returning with a 16:01 under his belt, but he’s also now acquired some big track times as well. His growth in the 1600m and 3200m will easily put him in the 15’s and in position to claim TISAC and state titles. Don’t count on Mitchell to be alone, however. North Raleigh Christian Academy’s Miller Meares is coming back with a 5k time only 10 seconds short of Mitchell’s, but the two have track times that are nearly identical. Both titles are bound to come down to a guts race between these two fellas.
