XC Preview: NCISAA 3A By Conference

CAA Boys

Teams to Watch

Asheville School has a balanced team, with a strong #1 runner and the best depth in the CAA, and that makes them heavy favorites coming into 2015. Asheville Christian isn't out of the race by any means, though - especially if ACA can improve ther 4 & 5 runners, as the front 3 is almost even with the conference leaders.

Athletes to Watch

Samuel Goldstein (Asheville School) is the top returner in a conference where nobody broke 17 last fall; his 1600 time in the spring says he should be in the 16's this fall. His best competition could come from teammate Austin Letson, who went from 18:36 in the fall to 10:15 in the spring, the leading time in the CAA. On the other hand, #2 returner Luke Horne (Shannon Forest) had the best 1600 time on the track, and he will definitely make a run at the individual title.
