XC Preview: NCISAA 3A By Conference

CAA Girls

Teams to Watch

Despite competing in the 2A classification, Carolina Day has a stranglehold on the team competition in this conference with 3 of the top 4 returning runners. Likewise for the #2 returning team, Asheville Christian. The CAA's best 3A school is Asheville School, which has strong front-runners but needs to develop depth to compete this fall.

Athletes to Watch

Ralene Kwiatkowski (Carolina Day) is not just the top returner in the conference - she is one of the best runners in the state, having clocked 5:10 and 11:10 on the track this spring. Rylynn Pierson (Asheville School) is the only other runner in the conference that broke 20 last fall, but the #3 returner, Kathleen Norton (Carolina Day), put up strong enough times in the spring to indicate that she will get there this fall.
