Registration is open for the Elite Tune-Up, co-sponsored by NCRunners and our neighbor to the south, SCRunners. We will begin recruiting Elite athletes for the Border Clash 1600 and 800 this week, but anyone can join in the postseason fun! The meet is open to high school athletes of all ability levels, from those looking to stay sharp for New Balance Nationals two weeks later to those who just want one more race to close the season. This is the meet founded by Robert Youtz in 2009, but at a new location and featuring a new theme:
Border Clash 1600 and 800
North Carolina and South Carolina will each be represented by at least 4 athletes in these races, and there will be state vs. state scoring in both events. Not only will the meet provide top-notch individual competition as always, but you might have the chance to bring home bragging rights for your state! We hope to add some athletes from Tennessee and Georgia, as well, so the Border Clash could develop into a 4-Way Border War - and if it goes well for these two events, we can expand it to more in 2016!
