Girls Highlights
Kylie McMillan's 100 Hurdle time of 13.81 is NC #3 and US #20 this season, as well as NC #13 All-Time. She also broke her own 3A state meet record in the event. McMillan ran 43.78 NC #4 in the 300 Hurdles.
Courtney Warner (C.B. Aycock) won the 100 Dash in 11.80 NC #2 and the 200 Dash in 24.23 NC #4.
Anna Vess (A.C. Reynolds) repeated as the 1600 champion, running 5:03.49, and also added an 800 title to her resume with a 2:17.41 win.
Jasmine Parquet (Eastern Alamance) won the 400 with a NC #3 time of 56.13.
Julia Scoles (South Iredell) cleared 5' 6" NC #4 to win the high jump.
Tamilia Wright (Williams) took home gold in the triple jump with a mark of 39' 0.5" NC #3, barely edging out Mikaela Siebert (Cuthbertson) and her 38' 11" NC #4.
Rocky Mount's girls won the 4x100 in 49.08 and the 4x200 in 1:43.36.
Boys Highlights
Kadarius Lotharp posted wind-aided times of 10.35 and 21.54, both NC #1 all-conditions. He also powered Sun Valley to the wins in the 4x100 (42.01 NC #2) and 4x200 (1:27.76 NC #1), coming from behind on the anchor both times.
Tanis Baldwin (East Henderson) pulled away on the final lap to win the 1600 in 4:17 (which was expected), then blew away the field in the 800 by running 1:52.11 NC #1 US #23 (which was less expected). Connor Peeples (Cardinal Gibbons) was able to stay relatively close and was rewarded with a NC #2 time of 1:53.04.
Corey Thompson (East Gaston) brought home the double hurdle win, taking the 110H in 14.49 and the 300H in 38.03 NC #2.
Ty Jaye Robbins-Lockhart (Piedmont) won the 400 in 46.72 NC #1 US #9 NC #3 All-Time. Incredibly, he hasn't signed with a college yet! How long do you think that will last after yesterday's performance?
Cardinal Gibbons opened the meet with a 7:56.09 4x800 NC #1, then West Carteret closed the meet with a 3:19.39 4x400 NC #1.
Ian West (Fike) tied the overall state meet record by clearing 16 feet NC #2 US #24 in the pole vault.
Tyson Fortenberry (Ashbrook) won the shot put (52' 4.5") and the discus (153' 2").
Noah Tyson (Asheville) earned gold in the triple jump with a mark of 46' 8" NC #5.
Marvin Ridge scored 51 of their 60 points in the field events, led by Christopher Garrick's high jump win and Julian Gaines' long jump victory.
