NCHSAA 3A State Meet Preview

Girls Sprints & Hurdles

Kylie McMillan (Southern Guilford) pulled off the quad at her regional, winning the 100 and 200 in addition to her signature hurdle races. One big obstacle stands between her and the same feat this weekend - and that obstacle is named Courtney Warner. The C.B. Aycock sprinter is the top seed in the 100 and 200, and you get the sense that she hasn't been pushed to her max lately. Even if Warner prevails in the sprints, though, McMillan can still score enough to be the front-runner for MVP. Kaylah Ruff (Hickory) and Tamilia Wright (Williams) are McMillan's chief competitors in the hurdles. Jasmine Parquet (Eastern Alamance) ran the fastest 400 of anyone last weekend, giving her a full second advantage over the next-best qualifier.
