Tamara Clark, High Point Central, 39.09 for 300 NC #1 US #3 NC #4 All-Time

Clark was the last in a string of big 300 performances Saturday, which included Ebony Williams (Parkland) 39.18 NC #2 US #7 NC #5 All-Time and Katlyn Sherman (Parkland) 39.90 NC #4 US #12. Clark also ran 7.15 in the 55 Dash, tying Charminiqu Hackney (Cary) for NC #4 this season.


Nevada Mareno, Leesville Road, 2:55.20 for 1000 NC #1 US #4 NC #2 All-Time

Mareno's third race on Saturday was her best, following up a strong leg of the NC #1 9:41.87 4x800 and a runaway 5:07.97 win in the 1600. In the Friday session, Grace Sullivan (Providence) also joined the sub-3 club, posting a 2:59.76 to move up to NC #12 All-Time.


Ebony Williams, Parkland, 8.00 for 55 Hurdles NC #2 US #4 NC #7 All-Time

What a day for Williams! She entered the national top 10 in the 300 after blasting a top-5 time in the hurdles. She was pushed all the way by Gabriele Cunningham, whose 8.11 is NC #3 US #11 NC #14 All-Time.


Caroline Yarbrough, Page, 10:58.26 for 3200 NC #1 US #15 NC #13 All-Time

Building on an excellent cross country season, Yarbrough became the first NC girl to break 10 this season after holding off Elly Henes (US #18 11:01.74) and Lily Anderson (US #19 11:01.86).


Christopher Garrick, Marvin Ridge, and Keon Howe, Mallard Creek, 6' 10" High Jump NC #1 US #2 NC #3 All-Time

This was an exciting duel to watch, as the two jumpers first equalled their previous PR's at 6' 8", then cleared 6' 10', and finally attempted 7 feet! Howe also soared in the pole vault, clearing 14 feet. Also noteworthy was Elizabeth Olesen (Hickory Ridge) tying for the NC #1 with a 5' 6" clearance. The best vault of the entire weekend came from Tristian Shaver (Ledford), who cleared 15 feet.


Nick Linder, Providence Day, 4:23.50 for 1600 NC #1

Linder made his debut in this race during session 2, then came back in session 3 to run 2:31.11 for the 1000 NC #3 US #9 NC #8 All-Time. Linder pulled away from Kenny Kneisel (Mount Tabor, NC #3 4:28.37) with a blistering final 400. In the third session, Blanton Gillespie (Shelby) slid into NC #2 with a 4:27.50.


Tanis Baldwin, East Henderson, 9:41.23 for 3200 NC #1

Baldwin completed an overhaul of the 3200 rankings, with the current top 5 in the state coming from this meet: Connor Lane (Cardinal Gibbons) 9:43.31 NC #2, Zach Boone (Mitchell) 9:43.71 NC #3, Dean Abushouk (Cary) 9:43.74 NC #4, and Kyle Christ (West Johnston) 9:52.79 NC #5.


Green Hope boys, 1:33.15 4x200 NC #1

Although North Mecklenburg challenged on Saturday afternoon with a NC #2 1:33.51, it was Friday night's winner that left the weekend with the top ranking.
