Girls Championship Race

Two highly-ranked 4A teams from the Charlotte area will face off on a challenging course with wooded trails - it sounds like the lead-up to the Myers Park Invitational, but it's happening in Morganton on Saturday.  Providence will pit its front-running talent against the depth of Myers Park in what will most likely be a two-team battle for the championship, as well as yet another preview of the exciting 4A West race coming up on October 25th.  That also brings an interesting subtext to the individual race, where familiar foes Grace Sullivan (Providence) and Mary Prouty (Myers Park) will duel once again.  At first glance Sullivan appears to have a heavy advantage, but Prouty has only run two races all season, both on challenging courses.  Rest assured that Sullivan will probably NOT clock 17:38 on this course, and ...
