  • Providence Day boys clocked 10:30.8 in the Distance Medley Relay US #2

  • Sydney Foreman (Ardrey Kell) ran 11:04.80 for 3200 NC #1, showing that swimming provides a great base for distance running.

Friday Night Lights (Mount Tabor, Winston-Salem)

Highlights

  • Parkland's girls posted very strong early-season marks of 1:38.82 for the 4x200 NC #1 US #3 and 47.36 for the 4x100 NC #1 US #9.

  • Sara Platek (Ragsdale, running unattached) ran 5:03.16 to win the mile (converts to 5:01.40 for 1600) NC #1 US #10.  Rebekah Greengrass (Panther Creek) clocked 5:06.62 US #20.

  • Ian Milder (Mount Tabor) pulled away on the final lap of the mile to run 4:21.08 (converts to 4:19.57 for 1600) NC #2 US #10.  Patrick Shehan (Lake Norman) ran 4:22.39 US #16 and Kenny Kneisel (Mount Tabor) 4:23.22 US #24 US #3 for sophomores.

  • Ebony Williams (Parkland) posted an early NC #1 US #11 mark of 14.37 in the 100 Hurdles.

  • Katlyn Sherman (Parkland) blew away the competition in the 100, running 12.07 NC #1.

  • Zoe Early (Green Hope, competing unattached) cleared 11' 8" in the pole vault to earn NC #1 US #24.

Tiger Relays (Reid Ross Classical School, Fayetteville, hosted by South View)

  • Philip Hall (Terry Sanford) showed he hasn't lost much at all from his layoff, hitting 4:18.90 for the 1600 NC #1 US #8

  • Colin Minor (South Brunswick) won the first of what looks like many battles with Mateius Brown (Western Harnett) in the discus, hitting 159' 9" NC #1 to Brown's 155' 7" NC #2.

  • Brown got Minor back in the shot put, heaving a 55' 8.5" NC #1 US #21 to defeat Minor's 55' 0.5" NC #2 US #26.

  • Pine Forest's boys clocked 3:36.10 in the 1600 Sprint Medley Relay US #6.
