High School Runners!
The Charlotte Running Company is pleased to play host to arguably one of
the most prolific and greatest American Distance Runners of All-Time -
American 3000m and 5000m Record Holder Bob Kennedy!
In 1996, Bob became the first non-African to run the 5,000 meters in
less than 13 minutes. That same year he finished sixth in the 5,000
meters at the Atlanta Olympics. This was the best finish in the 5,000
since Steve Prefontaine was fourth in 1972.
Come Join us on Monday evening, February 19th at the Park Terrace Movie
Theatre at the Park Road Shopping Center, 4289 Park Road Charlotte, NC
28209. Bob will speak at 6:30pm, and then we will screen the movie Five
Thousand Meters: Nothing Comes Easy, which chronicles the quest of nine
runners attempting to make the 2004 Olympic Team in the 5K.
