Meet Information

Due to construction at Kidd Brewer Stadium, ASU will not be able to hold the Appalachian High School Invitational in 2011. For this year only, Watauga High School will host be hosting an invitational on the traditional ASU date, Saturday, April 16. This Appalachian Invitational is open to all schools in North Carolina and bordering states. Watauga High School has a brand new campus with a new 8-lane rubberized track, all field events inside the track, a field-turf warmup area next to the track, and excellent seating and space for team tents.

The meet will start with field events and a JV mile at 11:00 a.m., sprint prelims at 11:30, 4x800 at 12:15, and finals at 12:45. An exact time schedule will be posted after the close of entries. Prelims will be held in the 100 and 100/110 hurdles; all other events will be direct finals in sections. Running events will be automatically timed. Meet management is extremely efficient and experienced, and includes former directors of the Taco Bell Invitational and Raleigh Relays.

Entries will be done online through nc.milesplit.com and must be done by Tuesday, April 12. Entry fee is $45 per team (men or women) or $75 for both men's and women's teams from a single school. Teams entering four or fewer entries may pay $10 per individual. Entries fees should be made out to ????, and can be sent to ???? or paid at packet pickup.

Note that Watauga High School is also hosting the innaugural High Country Invitational on Saturday, April 23. Teams that wish to compete in both events will receive a discounted entry fee of $100 total to cover both boys and girls for both meets.
