The Wendy\'s Invitational held at McAlpine Greenway Park marked the return of 2003 AA 3200 outdoor state runner-up Pat Eggleston to the Brentsville boys\' lineup. His first race back seemingly gave his entire squad an energy boost, especially junior Nick Gehlsen. Gehlsen stole the thunder from AA #2 ranked teammate Eggleston as he posted AA\'s first sub 16 clocking of the season with his fifth place clocking of 15:56 and helped Brentsville return from Charlotte with the first place team trophy against some of North Carolina\'s best teams.

Pre-season AA #1 ranked individual Pat Eggleston of Brentsville will be making his senior season debut after missing the first few meets due to injury at the Wendy\'s Invitationl in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Brentsville boys and girls will try their luck at the fast McAlpine Park 5K course in traditionally one of the better meets in the South. Currently, the Brentsville boys and girls have aspirations for strong finishes in this November\'s Group AA State race.

The Wendy\'s Cross Country Invitational is taking place this Saturday at McAlpine Park in Charlotte. McAlpine Park is also the host facility of the Footlocker South Regional Meet, that is set for Nov. 27.
