Meet Information

Coaches Meeting will be at 3:45pm at the red tent (home side of the stadium). Please have a printed copy of the heatsheets. I will send them out on Tuesday morning.

Please see field event assignments below. Please add the name of the coach from your school that will be operating the event your school was assigned. Please do not change schools around. Coaches please be sure you know the rules for your event. Also, please remind your athletes to sign in and out of field events. I will make reminder announcements to return but they need to be aware that if they check out from a field event and do not return in a timely manner, they will lose their attempts.

  1. All entries are to be posted in MileSplit by 12 pm Sunday 5/15. All scratches should be submitted to darla.jones@cabarrus.k12.nc.us by 2:30 pm 5/16.  This is for scratches only. No substitutions can be made for scratched athletes; the only exception would be an alternate already listed on a relay team.

  2. Parking: This is different from last year so please read. You will turn into West Cabarrus at the NON-LIGHT entrance and drive to the stadium. Drop your athletes and gear off. Turn around in the loop in front of the stadium. Drive back towards the school entrance. At the stop sign you will turn right, go up the drive and park buses in the bus lot. PLEASE ask questions if my directions are unclear. Please tell all your families to park only in the parking lot, not the bus lot.  

  3. Once in the stadium, please find your school sign and sit in that area. This will help West Cabarrus know which school to fine for excessive trash. Ok, maybe fines might be too far but please make sure your athletes and parents clean your area.

  4. The meet will start promptly at 4:00 pm with field events. Field events will be 4 jump/throw finals (no top 9 returning).. There will be NO warmups or run/throws after 4 pm. Please arrive with enough time for your athletes to warm up. First call will be at 3:45 pm. The 4 by 800 will begin at 4:25 pm to give enough time for the field events to get up and running.. 

  5. Roberta Rd and Winkler Middle athletes that are not participating in the meet are deemed the hurdle crew. Please make them aware.

  6. Please be sure all your athletes know their heat and lane number! This will speed up the hip number disbursement before each run.

  7. Ribbons will be given to all athletes placing 1st-3rd. There will be announcements as results are posted for athletes to pick up their ribbons at the awards table. The table will be located outside of the track near the home side of the stadium. Team scores will be hidden until the end of the meet when they will be announced. There will be first place trophies for boys and girls. 

  8. The concession stand will be available for athletes and spectators.
