CAP 7 Cross Country Championships

1:30-2:15 pm - Screening (see attached map for zones) 

2:30 pm - Volunteer meeting (@ Finish Line) 

2:45 pm - Coach's meeting (@ Finish Line) 

3:00 pm - Boys Cap 7 Championship (7 runners) 

3:45 pm - Girls Cap 7 Championship (7 runners) 

 

Team Entries:

You may enter a maximum of 7 boys and 7 girls. NO CHANGES WILL BE MADE DAY OF MEET! Entries will be completed through NCRUNNERS (ncmilesplit.com) and the entry page has been linked to your team - or can be found here:

BIB Numbers

Athletes should wear season long assigned bibs. If an athlete has misplaced or lost this assigned bib, please replace the bib, and update the milesplit database with the newly assigned bib number. 

Screening / Zones / Masks: (*See Attached Map) 

Each team is responsible for screening all staff and athletes. Each team has been assigned a zone for screening and parking (alphabetical order). Please have athletes drive through screen and park in designated zone. ALL Volunteers should drive through zone #1, receive volunteer wristband, and park in the designated volunteer area following screening. Masks are required for all coaches, volunteers, and athletes except when actively competing. 

Course:

All races will be held on the 5k course at Wake Med Park. 

Rules:

The NCHSAA uniform and GPS watch rule will be enforced for all races, so please make sure your varsity runners have matching uniforms. We will check at the starting line and issue warnings when needed 

 

4A East Region Qualifications:

Results:

Results will be posted on NC Milesplit.

Awards:

THERE WILL BE NO AWARDS CEREMONY.  

Awards will be provided to the head coach of each team that has award recipients at the end of the meet. 

A plaque will be awarded to the winning team in each race. Certificates will be provided to the individuals on the All-Conference Teams (1st team: places 1-7, 2nd team: places 8-14). 

Trainer:

There will be a Broughton trainer on site before and during the meet. Trainer will be located at the finish line area. 

 

Trail Vehicle:

We will have a trail vehicle to follow each race for the health and safety of the runners.

 

Spectators: 

Please NOTE that the following is not a Broughton decision! Cary Parks and Recreation (IE: Keith Jenkins of Wake Med Park) has informed meet directors that Wake Med Park will not allow spectators for any Cross-Country Meets starting in January. 

 

Volunteers:

All volunteers will be screened by Broughton Coach Staff (Zone 1, before 2:15 PM) and will receive a wristband to identify them as a volunteer. The volunteer signup will be shared with all teams in the conference - providing opportunity for all teams to have volunteers to assist with meet management.
