Meet Information

THIS MEET IS FOR MVAC TEAMS ONLY: ALLEGHANY, ASHE COUNTY, WEST WILKES, and WILKES CENTRAL

START TIME IS 3:30 WITH THE BOYS GOING FIRST

Course: No changes from last year. We will have arrows posted in areas where their line of site is limited, cones will be placed, and the course will be painted. Course map is attached.course_map_wwhs.pdf
Start line: Athletes will need to have masks on at the start line. Runners can put these around their necks (gaiter), in their waistband, or pin it to their jersey, etc. Team starting boxes will be assigned and six feet apart. NO spectators/parents may be at the start/finish line area.
Warm-up areas: These will be between the team areas on the football field and anytime the track is free.
Registration/Numbers: Please register your team here. Only 7 may compete. We will send you a roster with numbers for you to mark on your athlete's right arm. We may need a coach or two (or three!) to help us watch for numbers/identify athletes as they finish. Coaches, please be sure your runners' uniforms follow the NCHSAA guidelines. Uniform checks will be made. 
Finish line: As soon as athletes cross the finish line, turn left into the football field, head towards their team area, and put their mask back on. They must follow these rules. NO spectators/parents may be at the start/finish line area.
Spectators: Max of 100. All spectators MUST be in the bleachers and remain there. NO spectators/parents may be at the start/finish line area. NO spectators or parents allowed in the Designated Team Area. They must follow social distancing guidelines at all times, including wearing a cloth face covering while at the facility. We'd appreciate it greatly if you would share this information with your fans.
Water: Athletes must bring their own water, hand sanitizer, mask, etc. to the race. 
Team Areas: Each team will have a designated area on the football field. You may bring your own canopy, if you wish. We will have these areas  assigned and distanced at least 10 feet from other team areas. Girls (except when warming up) should stay in this area during the boys race and vice versa. NO spectators or parents allowed in the Designated Team Area.
Athletic Trainer: Eric Maggio will be on site if any need should arise.
