Meet Information

1988 was one of the closer boys meets with North edging Reynolds 93 to 91 for the win, with Mount Tabor 3rd at 87, and Parkland 4th with 84.

North sophomore Marcus Sutton won the LJ and TJ the first day, setting a meet record in the triple with 48-5 1/4 jump, bettering the record set in 1985 by West's Thomas Speaks (47-1 1/2). Sutton's teammate Linnel Johnson also bettered the former record.

Reynolds' Rob Thomas cleared 6-10 to break the meet record in the High Jump (6-8 by Parkland's Ricky McCaskill in 1983).

Parkland's Scott Fletcher destroyed the 300-hurdles record with a 38.5. The old record was 39.5 by Charles Goins of Parkland in 1985.

Glen Mays of Reynolds ran 9:37.31 to break the record of 9:45.1 by Kevin Fitzgerald of Reynolds in 1975.

North's 4x100 ran 42.27 to better the old record of 42.5 set by Glenn (Mario Patterson, Brian Johnson, Maurice Smith, Randy Jones) the previous year.
