NCHSAA 4A East Regional 2019

CLAIM YOUR TEAM!!! If you have not done this, do not wait until the last minute. The site administrator must approve you as the team manager.

You may enter seven boys and seven girls.

ENTRY DEADLINE: Friday, October 25^th at noon.

You may make corrections and changes to your roster up until the entry deadline.

LATE ENTRIES GO THROUGH THE NCHSAA: If you realize you will be running an alternate after the deadline, please email them to me as soon as possible. I strongly want to avoid changing names on the day of the meet.

IF YOU MISS THE ENTRY DEADLINE, you will have to contact Chiquana Dancy at the NCHSAA. There are fines and penalties. This must be taken up with the NCHSAA. Avoid this by submitting your entries on time.

TIMES TO KNOW:Course Preview - Available for preview/workouts:

o   Thursday 3:40pm - 7:00pm

o   Friday, 3:40pm - 6:00pm (We have a home football game on Friday Nov 1.)

o   Saturday, 8:00am - 9:45 am.

Meet Day Schedule:

PARKING: $5.00 for spectators

9:00 AM:   Coaches' Meeting in the long hut behind the school, closest to the football field.

10:00 AM:  Men's 4A East Regional Championship

10:40 AM:   Women's 4A East Regional Championship

Bib Numbers, the Finish Chute and Finish Procedures:

All runners must place their bibs on the front of their singlet.

MAKE SURE THEY DO NOT PIN THE LARGE HOLE IN THE TEAR-OFF TAG!!!

FINISH CARDS: ATHLETES WILL BE HANDED A PLACEMENT CARD AS THEY EXIT THE CHUTE. THE CARDS ARE NOT

OFFICIAL. THEY ARE FOR BACK-UP, ONLY. WE ASK THAT EVERY COACH WRITE OUT NAMES AND SCHOOL NAME ON THE BACK OF THE CARDS. BRING THESE TO THE PRESS BOX AT THE CONCLUSION OF EACH RACE.

Verifying Results and More for Awards: At the conclusion of the girls' championship, the Meet Referee, games committee, and Meet Director will meet in the press box to verify the results and the State qualifiers.

Buses: Please park buses in the bus parking between South View High School and South View Middle School. The South View ROTC will direct you to where to park.

Bathrooms: Athletes should not be in the school building. Bathrooms at both concession stands will be open.

Commemorative Regional T-Shirts will be available: Prices to be announced.

Concessions will be available throughout the meet.

State Qualifiers: The top 25% of the COMPLETE teams (5-7 runners) that line up to compete on race day will qualify for the NCHSAA 4A State Meet at Beeson Park in Kernersville, NC on Saturday, November 9th. The top SEVEN individuals on a non-qualifying team also qualify.

Awards: We will recognize the top 21 individuals in each race. The 1st & 2nd place teams will receive trophies from the NCHSAA. The 3rd & 4th place qualifying teams in each race will be recognized and awarded a plaque from the host school.

The course: 

It is 5000 meters long and very spectator friendly. It is a combination of grass and dirt trails throughout the athletic fields and woods of the South View campus. After the first 200 meters, there is a very sharp left turn that athletes should be aware of. The course has some very sandy spots and athletes will cross a concrete sidewalk twice. The last 400 meters is in the football stadium. The athletes will enter the stadium and run on the interior grass of the track for 350 meters. The last 100 meters is the grass straightaway along the home side of the football/soccer field.
