Meet Information
Each relay team will consist of a team of 5, each runner will run a distance of 1.25 miles on the Manteo High School Cross Country Course and will hand off the baton to the next runner. We thought this would be a nice early season shake down and training opportunity for our runners, we were also hoping that our runners who were new to the sport would get some race experience before running in their first 5k distance at a meet.
Schools will be able to submit as many teams of 5 as they would like. We will have a boy's race and a separate girl's race.
We are charging an entry fee of $10 per team of 5. For example 2 boys teams, 1 girls team = $30.
We will be starting the 1st race at 4:30 pm, with the 2nd race to follow at the completion of the first.
Please let me know if you are interested in participating. I will need final numbers of teams by August 17 and payment can be brought the day of the event.
If you have not run at Manteo before it is a great course with lots of opportunities for spectators to view the runners, we think this will be an exciting event with some great competition!
