Welcome to the 2017 Buncombe County Championship hosted by Asheville High School. We are pleased to host this year and hope the experience for your athletes and staff well be rewarding. Slipstream Timing was unable to secure this date due to a conflict. Keang Heang Uy from North Henderson and his staff have agreed to seed, score, and provide fully automatic timing for the meet. Due to the short notice and his time from school, we have agreed to pay him the same amount that we would have paid Slipstream Timing. Due to the cost for the timing, hip numbers, etc., we need to request $50 per school as an entry fee. There is no rush to get that to us prior to the meet.
Online entry is to be done on NC Runners. You can find the meet in the calendar, and then complete your online entry. The entry is due Monday March 27, 2017 8:59PM. Please get your entry in on time so that we can seed and print programs. 3 athletes per event, and one relay per school.
Awards: Medals will be given for the top three places in each event. The team champion and team runner-up will be awarded a trophy for each gender. Most valuable field and most valuable track will be awarded to each gender as well.
Bus parking: The baseball parking lot off McDowell is currently closed off due to for construction. Bus parking will be secured at AB Techs upper lot behind the home side. We will have people there to direct you. You can come down through the home side (AB Tech) gate.
Schedule: We will begin all field events at 4 p.m. with the 4x800 beginning at 4:15
Boys Discus followed by girls
Girls Shot followed by boys
Open pit Long jump/Triple jump until 6:00
Girls Vault first
High Jump - Currently Boys first, unless we run 2 pits
Straight finals will be run with places according to time.
Opening height on the vertical jumps will be determined after entries are received.
